Additional Databases

Each Matrix Gemini LIMS system is supplied with three separate database groups; active, archive and training /  development. Additional database groups with different configurations may be added to support different functional groups.

Batch Registration
Allows grouping of samples with allocation of unique batch numbers in addition to individual sample numbers. Provides for information to be stored at a batch level. Batch registration is a standard feature of Matrix Plus and Matrix Enterprise LIMS. 

Configuration Tool Set
Includes screen editor/designer and menu builder.

Customer Complaint Management / Feedback module

Event log
Records all activity on the system such as time, date, event type, database, workstation, user, function and description. It is a fully searchable table allowing a wide variety of management reports to be generated

Frequency Testing
Frequency testing reduces the analytical testing requirements based on the number of samples of a specific product registered e.g. one in every five lots is tested. And much more.

Instrument Calibration and Maintenance
Provides for instrument inventory management, scheduling of calibrations, scheduling of maintenance, monitoring of instrument status.

Network Administrator
Provides for workstation identification. Enables and disables specific workstations, limits users to specific workstations, displays details of all current users, controls system usage, provides for automatic program timeout when inactive.

Multi-sample, Multi-test Result Entry
Provides for batch entry and review of results for many samples and many tests on a single screen. Familiar spreadsheet look and feel.

Result Import
Provides for automated import of test results from instruments or other computers on the network. Needed for use with data collected by Labtronics LimsLink, and other systems.

Runsheet
Runsheet allows sample tests from a number of samples to be associated with a single runsheet and also

a) Allows definition and storage of runsheet templates and definition of ad-hoc runsheets and each template to have a unique code number

b) Templates to include, for example:

• blanks
• wash samples
• standards/calibration samples
• recovery samples
• spikes
• QA samples
  

vii) control samples in pre-defined positions in a runsheet according to the relevant SOP.

c)  ‘Real samples’ to be inserted into runsheet when found in a worklist search of the Matrix database to provide all samples with test ‘x’ pending.
d)  Each runsheet created as in (c) is given a unique runsheet number
e)  Allows result entry by runsheet number
f)   Allows calculations in runsheet to measure and deduct blank values to measure and compare QA samples with expected values (i.e. limits), etc and issue warnings as appropriate with opportunity to adjust ‘real samples’ results on basis of, for example, recovery value.
g)  Traceability of runsheet number with sample number.
h)  Hooks provided such that runsheet can check the availability and validity of an instrument, check the training status of the operator with respect to the use of the instrument or the use of the method, and check the availability of reagents and other consumables needed for the runsheet.

Runsheet allows the creation of worksheet templates for each analytical method used within the laboratory.  When a working runsheet is created it may be downloaded to an instrument system as a sequence file, each runsheet having a unique identity.

Sample Receipt/Preparation
Used to record a change of status when samples are physically received into the laboratory or prepared, awaiting analysis.

Stability Study Management
Provides protocol and inventory management for studies where samples and associated tests are scheduled at specific time points, such as pharmaceutical stability testing, food shelf life studies and accelerated testing in materials evaluation.

Training Records Management
Provides for ISO900n protocol driven, recording and managing of all training records and courses attended by staff.
